What is the difference between the types of scan we offer?

A 2D scan is typically the scan that would be used within a hospital setting.
A 3D scan is an image that is captured from a live image that can be seen on the screen when performing a scan
A 4D scan is the moving 3D live image on the screen.
Your 3D image will be a photo capture of the live 4D image on the screen.

What machine is used at Baby Boo?

We use the latest, top of the range machine, Voluson E8.

Who will perform my scan?

Your scan will be performed by our practicing, qualified and experienced senior nurse who has completed a robust and thorough training programme in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Is there car parking?

We have our own free, private parking.

When can I have a gender scan?

We can perform a gender scan from 14 weeks of pregnancy

Can I bring family and friends?

Yes! We have a dedicated area that can seat 3 people in our scanning room. We welcome friends and family. We can also accommodate little ones with a TV for entertainment and a fridge for hydration in our private waiting area.

Do I still have to attend my hospital scans If I come to you?

Our service is aimed to accompany services provided by the NHS and therefore recommend you attend your scheduled NHS appointments. Our services are for entertainment purposes only.

How old do I have to be to have a scan?

Our services have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old

When is the best time to have my scan?

The best time for scans is all dependant on which scan you require. We would suggest having your 3D/4D scan between 26 and 31 weeks for the best outcome. Gender scans can be performed from 14 weeks and early reassurance scans from 6 weeks.

Can I buy extra products on the day?

Yes, we have a wide range of memorabilia you, your family and friends can choose from all available in the shop.

Do I have to pay more if I’m expecting more than one baby?

Yes, we have a supplement of £20 that can be paid on the day, this is enable us an extended appointment time
